CRADLE TO CRADLE CERTIFIED™

ENVIRONMENTAL PRODUCT DECLARATIONS

HEALTH PRODUCT DECLARATIONS

As the first flooring manufacturer to achieve Cradle to Cradle™ certification, we are consistently focused on new innovations around product stewardship and overall environmental and human health. All EcoWorx® products with Eco Solution Q are Cradle to Cradle Certified™ v3.1, meaning that they have met all of the requirements of that multi-attribute product certification around material health, material reutilization, renewable energy and carbon management, water stewardship, and social fairness. The protocols outlined in Cradle to Cradle™ are what drive our design philosophy and our own product sustainability standards.

A third-party verified program, Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) summarize the life cycle analysis into environmental impacts for a product according to a set of Product Category Rules (PCR). Declarations include information on the environmental impact of raw material acquisition, energy use and efficiency, content of materials and chemical substances, emissions to air, soil and water and waste generation. EPDs are the summary document from an LCA that allow a product manufacturer to more easily communicate a product's environmental footprint and identify areas where impacts can be reduced. Our EPDs are verified in accordance with EN 15804 and ISO14025 standards.   The Health Product Declaration (HPD) provides a consistent and transparent reporting method for raw material ingredients and associated health hazards for building products. HPDs include an inventory of ingredients that are screened against a number of authoritative lists to determine the associated hazards to humans and the environment.

RECYCLING & RECLAMATION

Greener buildings matter to everyone. Declare helps drive the world's most aspirational standards for green buildings (and the materials used to create them). An extremely rigorous green building certification program developed by the International Living Future Institute (ILFI).

The flooring industry's first consensus-based American National Standards Institute (ANSI) approved sustainability certification for carpet, NSF 140 was created to establish consistent performance requirements for carpet, including public health and environmental excellence, social responsibility and economic responsibility across the supply chain

As important to us as the use of healthy materials are in our products, so too is what happens to products at the end of their useful lives. That's why materials reclamation and recycling has long been a key consideration in the way we design and make our flooring. More than a smart way to ensure materials remain in a continuous cycle of use, creating products that can be recycled (and building the infrastructure to reclaim and recycle them) is critical to creating a new, circular economy – one in which valuable materials never become waste.
